Many years ago Redhill Youth FC started as Whitebushes Junior FC. The Chair Jenny Bance and Treasurer Lydia Parker approached Redhill Football Club and became the club’s junior section in 1996. They started with five teams and steadily grew over the next few years with mini sided football based at Brambletye School, now Earlswood Junior School. The 11-a-side teams played at Reigate School at that time. Training was split between Warwick and Reigate schools on their respective AstroTurf pitches. Over the years we’ve played at New Pond Farm and Merstham Recreation park, and we now have our home pitches at Earlswood Common Playing Fields (known locally as “The Ring”), at Battlebridge Lane Recreation Ground, Reigate Heath and New Pond Farm.
Redhill Juniors became Redhill Town FC for a period of time working more independently from the main Redhill FC Club but in 2014 under new leadership the club was reorganised and strengthened, and we are now Redhill FC Youth affiliated once again with the Senior Club who are based at Kiln Brow Grounds. We collaborate with the Seniors to create opportunities for our young people post-18 to continue playing football as well as being able to aspire to play with the Redhill FC Reserves or First Team.
Working closely with Reigate and Banstead Council we have improved facilities at the Battlebridge Recreation Ground venue, which makes Battlebridge the home of our 7v7 Mini Soccer and Saturday Soccer School. We will continue to work at The Ring where our older teams play, and where recently our sponsors RG Group invested time and money to give the Club House there a much-needed face-lift and the name Earlswood Common Playing Fields.
Today we have 15 teams playing across a number of local venues, registered in three different Leagues. We are keen to continue growing and developing our Club to serve the local community with football provision that is of an excellent standard.
